Privacy
Short version: we collect your email address and where you are up to in the move, we use it to send you the guide and practical updates, and we never sell it.
What We Collect
- Your email address, the stage of the move you are at, and optionally a suburb you are looking at. You give us these on the signup form.
- A campaign label saying roughly where you found us, for example that you came from a link in the Facebook group.
- A record that someone clicked a partner link, including which partner and which page sent them. This is a count, not a profile: it is never linked to your email address.
- A daily tally of how many times each offer on the member offers page was shown and clicked, which is what we report back to the businesses listed there. It is a number per offer per day. Nothing about who saw it is recorded, so there is nothing in it that could be traced to you.
We do not run any third party analytics, and we never put personal information in a web address.
Cookies
Two cookies are essential and are set only once you sign up: one unlocks your guide download, and one is the sign in session if you are an administrator.
One cookie is optional, and nothing is set unless you press Accept on the banner. It stores the stage of the move you told us you were at, and nothing else, so that we can see which services people at each stage need. Decline and we simply record fewer clicks against a stage.
Why We Are Allowed to Hold It
Because you asked us to, by ticking the consent box. You can withdraw that at any time and we will delete your record. We keep a timestamp of when you consented, which is the evidence that you did.
Who Else Sees It
Our hosting and database providers, because the data sits on their infrastructure. Nobody else. We do not pass your details to the partners in the directory. When you click a partner link you arrive on their site as an ordinary visitor, and anything you then give them is between you and them, under their privacy policy.
Where It Is Held
On servers in Sydney, Australia. If you are in the UK or the EU when you sign up, that means your details are transferred to Australia.
Your Rights
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, and we will. Depending on where you are, those rights come from the UK GDPR or the Australian Privacy Act. Either way the answer is the same: ask and it is done.
